A worldwide program with over 1 million members, Slow Food is taking over the food industry. Slow Food Noosa Inc. has just grown once again with new members jumping on board this week.
Local food producers, chefs, restaurants and food outlets who seek to acknowledge and encourage good, clean and fair food can display the “Snail of Approval” for visitors to see.
Joining the new Slow Food members this week was Kin Kin State School who are dedicated to making food production an important part of the curriculum. Students are responsible for a 200sqm garden, and orchard of 30 fruit trees and a chook house. They learn about recycling and gardening and then the food goes to the Kookaburra Café where students cook and serve lunch each Friday.
The group gathered at Padstowes in Noosa Junction.
